Rigel to present cancer drug trial data at major medical conferences
Rigel Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: RIGL) announced it will present clinical trial data for its cancer drugs at two major medical conferences in 2026, according to a press release statement.
The company will deliver an oral presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting featuring final data from its Phase 3 AcceleRET-Lung clinical trial of GAVRETO (pralsetinib) as first-line treatment in patients with RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer. The presentation is scheduled for May 29, 2026, in Chicago.
Additional poster presentations at both the ASCO Annual Meeting and the European Hematology Association 2026 Congress will include final analysis from the Phase 1/2 ARROW clinical trial of pralsetinib in patients with advanced or metastatic RET-altered thyroid cancer, and real-world data for REZLIDHIA (olutasidenib) in patients with relapsed or refractory mIDH1 acute myeloid leukemia who received prior venetoclax treatment.
In the Phase 3 AcceleRET clinical trial, pralsetinib met the primary progression-free survival endpoint and demonstrated a significantly greater overall response rate compared to standard care. The trial recorded 32 deaths in the pralsetinib group and 26 deaths in the standard care group, with 8 deaths in the pralsetinib group attributed to infection.
For olutasidenib, real-world data from 51 patient charts showed a complete remission rate of 60.8% and a median response duration of 30.3 months in patients who received the drug following venetoclax-based therapy.
The ASCO Annual Meeting runs from May 29 to June 2, 2026, while the EHA2026 Congress takes place from June 11 to 14, 2026, in Stockholm, Sweden.
