Calix launches AI agents and workflows for service providers
Calix Inc. (NYSE: CALX) announced the launch of AI agents and agentic workflows through its Calix One platform, powered by Google Cloud. The company stated that all 1,200+ customers are now live on the third-generation platform.
The San Jose-based company reported that Calix One processes over one petabyte of data daily and executes more than 4.3 billion workflows and operations annually. The platform incorporates 15 years of development and more than $2 billion in investment, according to the company.
The agentic workflows span five key areas: subscriber acquisition, revenue growth, churn reduction, network operating cost reduction, and subscriber support cost reduction. These capabilities are delivered through Calix Agent Workforce Cloud across the company's Service Cloud, Engagement Cloud, Operations Cloud, and SmartLife product portfolio.
The workflows utilize real-time network conditions, subscriber experience data, service history, and operational state information to execute coordinated actions. The platform integrates third-party data through model context protocol (MCP) to extend workflow capabilities.
"Since November 2023, when we began investing to evolve the platform and integrate AI natively into everything we do, we have been building toward this moment," said Michael Weening, president and chief executive officer at Calix.
The company noted that its platform has evolved from 77 features in 2017 to more than 900 in 2024. Calix customers have reported Net Promoter Scores in the 70s, 80s, and 90s range, along with higher average revenue per user and lower operating costs, according to the press release.
The release of agents and workflows began on May 12 and will continue deployment across the customer base.
