Laser Photonics highlights defense marking solution with Fonon unit
Laser Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: LASE) and affiliated company Fonon Technologies announced their compact laser marking solution designed for military logistics applications, according to a company statement.
The DefenseTech MRLS Marking Laser 5010 (DTMM-5010) is a portable fiber laser marking system that uses 1064 nm fiber laser technology with Q-switching capability. The system creates permanent marks on metal and non-metal surfaces without requiring consumables such as inks, labels, or chemical etchants.
The device features a marking depth of 100 microns and operates with a Windows-based interface. It offers marking areas ranging from 2 to 4 square inches and is classified as CDRH Class IV for safety purposes. The system is manufactured in Lake Mary, Florida.
"The DTMM-5010 addresses a critical need in defense logistics: the ability to permanently and reliably mark components and assets in the field without the cost and complexity of traditional marking methods," said Wayne Tupuola, Chief Executive Officer of Laser Photonics.
The system is designed for use in logistics depots, maintenance facilities, and forward operating environments. According to the company, the marks produced are engineered to withstand extreme temperatures and harsh environmental conditions.
Fonon Technologies serves government organizations, U.S. military branches, and defense contractors with industrial laser equipment. Laser Photonics develops laser technologies for cleaning, surface preparation, and material processing across various industries including defense, aerospace, energy, and automotive sectors.
