Avalyn to present 4-year data on inhaled pirfenidone at EULAR 2026

May 21, 2026 8:03 AM

Avalyn Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ: AVLN) announced it will present updated findings from its ATLAS open-label extension trial at the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology conference scheduled for June 3-6, 2026, in London.

The poster presentation will highlight long-term tolerability data for AP01, the company's inhaled pirfenidone treatment, in patients with progressive pulmonary fibrosis who received up to four years of treatment. The session is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at 10:15 BST.

The presentation, titled "Nebulized pirfenidone (AP01) for progressive pulmonary fibrosis in connective tissue disease-associated and other interstitial lung diseases: 4-year data from the ATLAS open label extension trial," will be delivered by Prof. Anna-Maria Hoffmann-Vold from Oslo University Hospital and University Hospital Zurich.

Avalyn is developing inhaled formulations of established antifibrotic medicines designed to deliver treatment directly to the lungs. The company's AP01 program represents an inhaled version of pirfenidone currently being evaluated in MIST, a Phase 2b clinical trial for patients with progressive pulmonary fibrosis.

The company is also advancing AP02, an inhaled formulation of nintedanib being tested in the AURA-IPF Phase 2 trial for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis patients, and AP03, an inhaled combination of pirfenidone and nintedanib.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
