Stellantis unveils STLA One vehicle platform targeting 2M units by 2035

May 21, 2026 7:32 AM

Stellantis (NYSE: STLA) announced its STLA One modular vehicle architecture, designed to support multiple powertrains and vehicle segments. The platform is scheduled to launch in 2027 and targets production of more than 2 million units by 2035.

The STLA One architecture will cover B, C and D vehicle segments and is designed to consolidate five different platforms into one scalable system. Stellantis stated the platform targets 20% cost efficiency through modularity and battery technology choices.

The platform represents Stellantis' first architecture designed to integrate STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit and steer-by-wire technology. The company plans to support more than 30 vehicle models using the STLA One platform.

"STLA One is a clear example of a truly modular strategy, giving us the flexibility of a multi-energy platform without carrying inefficiencies from one propulsion system to another," said Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer.

Stellantis indicated the platform will utilize lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and cell-to-body integration to reduce costs and weight. The system will be 800-volt capable for faster charging times.

The company targets 50% of its volume on three global platforms by 2030, with up to 70% component reuse across models. This strategy is intended to reduce development time and improve supplier relationships.

The announcement was made according to a company press release statement. Stellantis operates automotive brands including Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Peugeot, Citroën and Opel.
