VinFast (NASDAQ: VFS) announced the launch of its new-generation VF 8 electric SUV, featuring technology platform upgrades developed by the company's engineering team. The Vietnamese automaker introduced the D-segment electric vehicle with design, technology, and feature improvements.

The new VF 8 measures 4,701 x 1,872 x 1,670 mm with a 2,840 mm wheelbase and five-seat configuration. The vehicle includes 19-inch wheels and 170 mm ground clearance. Interior features include a 12.9-inch infotainment display, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat with memory function.

The electric SUV operates on a new chassis platform with Frequency Selective Dampers on front and rear axles. VinFast developed the electrical and electronic architecture using a Software Defined Vehicle approach, centered around a Central Vehicle Computer for data processing and vehicle control functions.

The vehicle produces 170 kW (228 horsepower) with 330 Nm peak torque through front-wheel drive and three driving modes. A 60.13 kWh battery pack provides up to 500 km driving range based on NEDC standards, with fast charging capability from 10% to 70% in under 30 minutes.

VinFast equipped the new VF 8 with its proprietary Integrated Thermal Management system for battery, motor, electrical system, and cabin climate control coordination. Safety features include Highway Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Warning, and a 360-degree camera system designed to meet ASEAN NCAP 5-star safety standards.

Pre-orders begin May 27, 2026, through VinFast's website and dealer network in Vietnam. The vehicle is priced at VND 999 million with a seven-year or 160,000 km warranty for the vehicle and eight years or 160,000 km for the battery. First deliveries are scheduled for late July 2026.
