Natera expands Austin operations, plans what it calls world's largest sequencing facility
Natera Inc. (NASDAQ: NTRA) announced plans to expand its North Austin headquarters campus with a new sequencing facility and additional laboratory space. The company stated the facility will have what it believes to be the largest sequencing capacity globally.
The expansion includes two projects at Natera's existing campus: a dedicated sequencing facility to increase capacity and additional space in a second building to support business growth. The company expects to create up to 400 new jobs across professional, laboratory, and operational roles through this expansion.
Natera reported that oncology testing volumes increased more than 54% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2026. The company's Signatera test is used by more than 50% of U.S. oncologists, according to the announcement. Signatera CDx recently became the first FDA-approved companion diagnostic in molecular residual disease testing.
"By expanding our lab space and sequencing capacity, we are investing in the infrastructure needed to serve more patients, support additional clinicians, and continue advancing personalized medicine at scale," said John Fesko, president and chief business officer of Natera.
The genetic testing company operates laboratories in Austin, Texas, San Carlos, California, and Boulder, Colorado through its subsidiary Foresight Diagnostics. Natera focuses on cell-free DNA testing and precision medicine for oncology, women's health, and organ health applications.
The information is based on a company press release statement.
