Vertical Aerospace (NYSE: EVTL) announced a partnership with Hyundai WIA to supply landing gear systems for its Valo electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

Under the agreement, Hyundai WIA will develop and manufacture the landing gear system with end-to-end design and production responsibility. Stirling Dynamics, a UK-based engineering company, will support Hyundai WIA as a design partner.

The partnership adds to Vertical's supplier network, which includes Honeywell for flight control systems, Aciturri for airframe structures, Evolito for electric propulsion units, Syensqo for composite materials, and Isoclima for transparencies.

"As we advance toward certification and industrialization, securing world-class suppliers remains central to our strategy," said Stuart Simpson, CEO of Vertical Aerospace.

Ho-Young Lee, Vice President of Hyundai WIA, said the company looks forward to working with Vertical and Stirling Dynamics to deliver a landing gear solution that meets safety standards and performance requirements.

The announcement follows Vertical's completion of two-way piloted transition flight testing. The company is progressing toward Critical Design Review, which will establish the certifiable design baseline for certification-conforming aircraft.

Hyundai WIA, founded in 1976, produces automobile parts, mobility solutions, and aerospace and defense industry solutions. Stirling Dynamics has over 30 years of experience in landing gear design services for certified aircraft platforms.

Vertical reports approximately 1,500 pre-orders for Valo from customers including American Airlines, Avolon, Bristow, GOL and Japan Airlines. The company is headquartered in Bristol, UK.
