Skillsoft names Ron Kisling as chief financial officer
Skillsoft Corp. (NYSE: SKIL) appointed Ron Kisling as chief financial officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement.
Kisling brings more than 40 years of finance experience, including 15 years serving as CFO at technology companies. He most recently held CFO positions at Fastly and Fitbit, where he led finance organizations during periods of expansion.
The appointment comes as Skillsoft continues its business transformation following the signing of its Global Knowledge business sale. The company said Kisling will help lead the next phase of its strategic repositioning.
"Ron has built a strong track record of enhancing financial discipline and driving operational rigor, and we're confident he's the right leader for where we're headed," said Ron Hovsepian, chief executive officer of Skillsoft.
Kisling replaces John Frederick, who is retiring and will serve as an advisor to the company through early September. The company stated that Frederick's departure is not related to financial or operating results or any disagreement regarding company policies.
Prior to his recent roles, Kisling served as CFO at technology companies including Nanometrics, PGP Corporation, Saba Software and SPL WorldGroup.
Skillsoft separately announced the sale of its Global Knowledge business unit to an affiliate of Enduring Ventures. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the second fiscal quarter of 2026.
The Boston-based company operates an AI-native skills management platform for workforce development.
