Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. (NYSE: HII) participated in the Combined Naval Event 2026 held May 19-21 at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre in the United Kingdom, according to a company statement.

The shipbuilder displayed exhibits featuring unmanned maritime systems, autonomous operations, and manned-unmanned teaming capabilities. The company presented its REMUS family of unmanned underwater vehicles and ROMULUS family of unmanned surface vessels, along with its Odyssey Autonomous Control System software suite.

HII reported delivering more than 750 REMUS vehicles to over 30 countries, including 14 NATO members, with more than 90% of systems remaining operational after more than two decades. The REMUS UUV family marked its 25th anniversary this year.

The company announced recent contract awards and operational milestones, including a U.S. Defense Innovation Unit contract to deliver a submarine Torpedo Tube Launch and Recovery system for deploying REMUS UUVs from Navy submarines. HII reported successful forward-deployed operations of a REMUS 600 UUV from USS Delaware.

HII expanded its European presence through an enlarged facility in Portchester, U.K., which serves as a regional hub for allied naval customers and training operations. The company reported progress in scaled production of its ROMULUS USV family, including construction of multiple ROMULUS 151 vessels.

"Our autonomous maritime systems are operating today in some of the world's most demanding environments," said Duane Fotheringham, president of the Unmanned Systems group in HII's Mission Technologies division.

The company maintains a collaboration with Babcock International Group to integrate autonomous launch and recovery capabilities for UUVs through submarine torpedo tubes. HII employs 44,000 workers and is headquartered in Virginia.
