May 20, 2026 9:02 AM

Expedia Group Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE) announced new artificial intelligence tools and platform expansions for its business-to-business division at the Explore 26 partner conference in Las Vegas.

The company introduced an AI toolkit designed to help business partners integrate Expedia Group's travel capabilities into their own systems and customer experiences. The toolkit includes the Intelligent Experience Platform, which provides AI components for partners to launch travel services powered by Expedia Group's data and infrastructure.

Expedia Group B2B currently serves 75,000 partners across various industries and 200,000 travel advisors, processing 21 billion API calls daily, according to company data from 2025.

The company also announced an agreement to acquire CarTrawler, an Ireland-based B2B platform that serves travel brands with car rental and ground transportation services. The acquisition, expected to close in the second half of 2026 subject to customary conditions, follows Expedia Group's recent purchase of Amsterdam-based activities platform Tiqets.

"For decades we've built the plumbing behind the scenes that makes travel work more connected, seamless, and trusted," said Alfonso Paredes, President B2B and Chief Commercial Officer at Expedia Group. "Now we're making that infrastructure even easier for partners to plug into."

The company expanded its marketing capabilities with new merchandising solutions for partners using its Rapid API, including updated B2B Partner Portal features for marketing strategy planning and a new Merchandising API for building marketing experiences across platforms.

Expedia Group's advertising division also enhanced its Travel Media Network with AI-powered advertising tools and expanded ad formats across search results and property pages.

The company established a Responsible AI Council to review AI deployments and continues to provide customer service support handling more than 7 million calls annually for partners, with 24/7 support available in 25 languages.
