Lakeland Industries delivers fire gear to Whitfield County Georgia department
Lakeland Industries Inc. (NASDAQ: LAKE) delivered an order of structural fire gear, rescue gear, helmets, hoods and gloves to the Whitfield County Georgia Fire Department. The company did not disclose financial terms of the order.
Whitfield County, located south of Chattanooga, includes the towns of Dalton, Tunnel Hill, Cohutta, and Varnell. The fire department serves county residents through fire suppression, prevention and public safety education programs.
"This new customer order exemplifies our work over the last several years to broaden our product offering through a series of global acquisitions and a unified brand portfolio," said Jim Jenkins, President and CEO of Lakeland Fire + Safety. Jenkins stated the acquisitions expanded the company's geographic reach and positioned it as a head-to-toe provider in fire protection.
The company completed NFPA 1970:2025 certification across its brand portfolio. Products including Lakeland structural turnout and proximity gear, Veridian structural turnout and proximity gear, gloves, fire particulate-blocking hoods, Jolly boots and Pacific helmets received full certification.
Lakeland representatives spoke with Whitfield County Fire Chief Paul Patterson Sr. and Assistant Chief of Logistics Chris West at FDIC about outfitting their department with the company's protective equipment. The company released a video of the interview.
Lakeland Fire + Safety manufactures protective clothing and accessories for industrial and first responder markets. The company also provides decontamination, repair and rental services. Products are sold through in-house sales teams and authorized independent representatives to distributors and wholesale partners globally.
