May 20, 2026 8:31 AM

Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) and the National Hockey League announced a multi-year global partnership naming Honeywell as the Official Building Automation and Energy Management Partner of the NHL.

Under the agreement, Honeywell will support the NHL's efforts to modernize arenas, practice facilities and community rinks across North America. The company will provide building automation technologies designed to help facilities manage power and cooling demands while improving operational uptime.

The solutions integrate fire and life safety, security, access control and energy management systems. Honeywell's technologies include platforms such as Honeywell Forge, which the company states can help improve energy efficiency, anticipate maintenance needs and reduce downtime.

"Today's hockey venues are highly complex, dynamic environments where efficiency and reliability directly impact performance and business outcomes," said Juan Picon, President, Americas for Honeywell Building Automation.

David Lehanski, NHL Executive Vice President of Business Development & Innovation, said the partnership aims to help NHL clubs expand efficiencies and create strategic investments to support community rinks.

The partnership comes as NHL attendance reached record levels, with more than 23 million fans attending regular-season games this season for the fourth consecutive year of record attendance, according to the press release. Hockey participation programs have also seen growth this season.

The companies plan to explore concepts for a "Rink of the Future" using advanced building automation, data-driven insights and integrated energy management systems. The collaboration aims to modernize building systems while supporting the data infrastructure for fan engagement and digital operations.
