Labcorp launches AI-powered mobile app for lab result interpretation
Labcorp (NYSE: LH) announced the launch of MyLabcorp, a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to help consumers understand their laboratory test results and track health trends over time.
The app combines lab results with AI-enabled features and clinical content in a secure mobile platform. MyLabcorp uses OpenAI models to provide personalized explanations of test results and enable users to ask questions about their health data.
Key features include access to Labcorp test results with trend tracking, an AI assistant for real-time explanations, health education content covering areas such as cardiometabolic and mental health, and lab service scheduling capabilities. The platform is HIPAA-compliant to protect personal health information.
According to a Labcorp survey, 55% of consumers view AI as important for understanding healthcare information, with 41% already using AI tools to interpret lab results and 35% to understand test ranges.
"Consumers are increasingly turning to AI to help them make sense of their health, but trust and clinical context matter," said Amy Summy, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Labcorp. "By bringing together Labcorp's deep scientific expertise with AI, MyLabcorp is designed to help individuals move beyond isolated results to gain deeper insights into their health."
The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with additional features being rolled out on an ongoing basis. The company states that MyLabcorp is designed to support understanding and wellness but does not provide medical diagnoses or treatment recommendations.
Labcorp operates as a global laboratory services company with nearly 71,000 employees serving clients in approximately 100 countries.
