NexGen Energy names Ryan Podrasky as new chief financial officer
NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX: NXE) (NYSE: NXE) (ASX: NXG) announced the appointment of Ryan Podrasky as chief financial officer, effective May 25, 2026. Podrasky will replace Benjamin Salter, who is stepping down from the CFO position but will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity during the transition, according to a company statement.
Podrasky brings more than 25 years of finance leadership experience across global mining and oil and gas companies. He most recently served as chief financial officer of Elk Valley Resources, formerly the coal business of Teck Resources and now majority-owned by Glencore. In that role, he oversaw the finance function for a business generating more than $10 billion in revenue and managed approximately $5 billion in annual operating and capital expenditures.
At Elk Valley Resources, Podrasky led financial operations for what the company described as Canada's largest steelmaking coal producer and the second-largest seaborne supplier globally. The operation employed more than 5,700 people across a multi-site, integrated mine-to-port value chain.
Prior to his full-time CFO appointment, Podrasky served as acting CFO during the separation of Teck's coal business into a standalone entity. He helped establish the standalone capital structure, treasury framework, financial systems, and governance model for the multi-billion-dollar mining organization.
Before joining Teck, Podrasky spent over a decade at Nexen Inc. in Calgary, advancing from joint venture auditor to corporate development roles supporting enterprise strategy, capital projects, and joint venture partnerships. He also held a commercial leadership position at Talisman Energy.
Podrasky holds a CPA designation and has served for more than five years as a board director of Neptune Bulk Terminals (Canada) Ltd., where he chaired the audit, finance, and insurance committees.
NexGen is a Canadian uranium company developing the Rook I Project in northern Saskatchewan, which the company describes as its flagship uranium development project.
