iPower launches AI infrastructure investment strategy

May 19, 2026 9:03 AM

iPower Inc. (NASDAQ: IPW) announced the launch of its AI infrastructure strategy, positioning itself as a capital provider for GPU clusters and AI infrastructure assets. The company plans to utilize its existing $30 million financing facility from December 2025 to build a dedicated portfolio of GPU and AI assets.

As an initial step, iPower committed up to $3 million from its financing proceeds to purchase sUSDai, described as a yield-bearing instrument backed by GPU-collateralized loans. This investment provides the company with exposure to AI infrastructure revenue streams in what it characterizes as a downside-protected structure.

"We are in the early innings of the most significant technological adoption in this generation, and compute infrastructure is the critical bottleneck standing between enterprises and adoption," said Lawrence Tan, CEO of iPower Inc.

The company's strategy focuses on pursuing investments across the AI infrastructure stack, targeting returns on invested capital through asset selection, and leveraging its capital markets experience to scale the portfolio. iPower cited a supply-demand imbalance in the GPU capacity market, where operators face capital constraints in meeting demand.

iPower operates as a technology and data-driven company with established e-commerce supply chain operations alongside its developing AI infrastructure investment strategy. The company stated it intends to provide updates on additional developments as it executes the strategy.

The announcement includes forward-looking statements regarding the company's ability to successfully deploy capital and generate revenue from the new strategy, with standard disclaimers about risks and uncertainties.
