EZGO Technologies partners for US autonomous vehicle platform
EZGO Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: EZGO) signed a strategic framework agreement with Autotrax.ai Inc. and Zhejiang Hengyuan Machinery Co., Ltd. to develop autonomous commercial vehicles for the U.S. market, according to a company statement.
The three-party alliance combines EZGO's lithium battery technology and vehicle control systems, Zhejiang Hengyuan's iChassis platform, and Autotrax.ai's autonomous driving engineering and California assembly capabilities. The vehicles will be assembled at Autotrax.ai's California facility.
The partnership targets a launch of autonomous logistics commercial vehicles in the U.S. market during the first half of 2027. Zhejiang Hengyuan's iChassis platform covers a 0.5-2 ton payload range and has delivered more than 3,000 units to autonomous vehicle customers including WeRide and Jiushi.
Under the agreement, EZGO proposes to make a strategic equity investment in Autotrax.ai, with the specific amount and valuation to be determined in a definitive agreement. The investment proceeds are expected to support expansion of Autotrax.ai's U.S. assembly line and engineering capabilities.
Upon completion of the proposed investment, EZGO would have the right to appoint one director to Autotrax.ai's board.
"This three-party alliance brings together three complementary strengths," said Ye Jianhui, Chairman and CEO of EZGO Technologies. "We believe this collaboration positions us to participate in the rapidly evolving autonomous commercial vehicle market in North America."
EZGO Technologies designs, manufactures and sells electric mobility products, intelligent robots and related accessories including batteries and charging facilities.
