MIAX launches Tini Bloomberg 100 Index Futures with more products planned
Miami International Holdings Inc. (NYSE: MIAX) launched Tini Bloomberg 100 Index Futures on MIAX Futures, marking the first product in a suite of equity index futures based on Bloomberg Indices.
The company announced that Tini Bloomberg 500 Index Futures will launch on May 31 with a June 1 trade date, followed by Bloomberg 500 Futures on June 7 with a June 8 trade date. All three products will be listed on MIAX Futures and clear at the Options Clearing Corporation.
"MIAX's new products based on Bloomberg indices are designed to help both retail and institutional investors gain and manage exposure to the largest companies in the U.S.," said Thomas P. Gallagher, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MIAX.
Emanuele Di Stefano, Head of Index Product at Bloomberg Index Services Limited, said the launch "marks an important step forward in the evolution of equity index markets." He described the Bloomberg 500 and 100 as "transparent, systematically constructed, and designed to quickly adapt to changes in market composition."
MIAX previously announced a licensing agreement with Bloomberg Index Services Limited to develop index futures, options on futures, and cash options products based on Bloomberg Indices' benchmarks.
Miami International Holdings operates eight exchanges across options, futures, equities and international markets, including MIAX Options, MIAX Pearl, MIAX Emerald, MIAX Sapphire, MIAX Pearl Equities, MIAX Futures, The Bermuda Stock Exchange and The International Stock Exchange. The company also owns Dorman Trading, a futures commission merchant.
