Investing.com -- A gas carrier completed delivery of a liquefied natural gas cargo from Russia to China on Tuesday after spending almost half a year at sea, according to LSEG ship-tracking data.

The gas carrier Perle docked at China's Beihai LNG terminal on Tuesday. The vessel loaded the cargo from Russia's LNG Portovaya facility on December 8, the data showed.

Standard delivery of an LNG cargo from Russia to Asia typically takes up to 45 days, depending on the route.

LNG Portovaya, which operates under U.S. sanctions, serves as a loading outlet for Russia's largest LNG producer Novatek. The facility handles cargoes from the company's Arctic LNG 2 plant, which is also subject to sanctions.

This marks the third cargo delivered to China from the Baltic Sea plant since Washington imposed sanctions in February 2025. The first cargo arrived in December.

Early operations from Portovaya primarily supplied cargoes to Turkey and Greece. The facility has since expanded its delivery destinations to include China, Spain and Italy.
