DELL launches deskside AI solution to reduce cloud dependency costs

May 18, 2026 1:00 PM

Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL) announced Dell Deskside Agentic AI, a new solution that enables organizations to deploy artificial intelligence workflows locally rather than relying solely on cloud-based services. The solution is designed to handle AI models ranging from 30 billion to 1 trillion parameters at desktop workstations.

The offering includes three workstation configurations: the Dell Pro Max with GB10 for smaller models up to 200 billion parameters, the Dell Pro Precision 9 with Intel Xeon 600 processors supporting models up to 500 billion parameters, and the Dell Pro Max with GB300 for frontier-level models up to 1 trillion parameters. Each system integrates with NVIDIA's NemoClaw software stack and Dell Services.

According to Dell, organizations can break even compared to public cloud API costs within three months using the deskside solution. The company claims potential cost reductions of up to 87% over two years compared to cloud APIs, based on analysis by Signal 65 and Futurum Group.

The solution incorporates NVIDIA OpenShell integration, providing a sandboxed environment for building and testing AI agents with security controls. This integration spans from Dell workstations to PowerEdge XE servers, creating a unified platform for AI development and deployment.

Dell also announced support for NVIDIA AI-Q 2.0 blueprint, which accelerates deployment of multi-agent workflows. The Dell-NVIDIA AI-Q 2.0 Reference Architecture is now available for on-premises workloads in regulated industries including financial services and manufacturing.

"The most efficient token is the one produced closest to the data, and most enterprise data isn't in the cloud," said Jeff Clarke, Dell's chief operating officer.

All components of Dell Deskside Agentic AI are available immediately, according to the company's press release.
