InterVenn Biosciences adds Ford and Levine to board
InterVenn Biosciences announced the appointment of Alec Ford and Mitch Levine to its board of directors. The South San Francisco-based life sciences company focuses on glycoproteomics for healthcare solutions.
Ford brings over 30 years of experience in genomics, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. He currently serves as chief executive officer of Karius, a liquid biopsy company for infectious diseases. Ford previously held the chief operating officer position at Myriad Genetics, where he launched products and scaled business units in women's health, oncology, urology and prenatal screening. His career includes leadership roles at Novartis, Sanofi-Aventis, Nektar Therapeutics and Pfizer.
Levine has extensive experience in biotechnology and diagnostics finance and corporate strategy. He currently serves as chief executive officer of Prenostics. Levine previously led SmartHealth Diagnostics as CEO and board chair, overseeing digital imaging instrumentation development and laboratory expansion. He served as chief financial officer at Oncocyte (NASDAQ: OCX), managing ten capital raises and three acquisitions. Levine founded Enable Capital Management in 2000, providing growth capital to technology and life sciences companies.
"Their combined expertise in diagnostics commercialization, operational scaling, and life sciences financial strategy will help accelerate our mission to bring glycoproteomics into clinical practice," said Andrew Quong, chief executive officer of InterVenn Biosciences.
The appointments come as InterVenn focuses on advancing commercialization of glycoproteomic diagnostics for clinical decision-making across complex diseases, according to the company's press release statement.
