Roman DBDR names Hunter Gary to board, Al Basseri as CTO
Roman DBDR Acquisition Corp. II (NASDAQ: DRDB) appointed Hunter Gary to its board of directors and Al Basseri as chief technology officer as the company prepares for its business combination with ThomasLloyd Climate Solutions B.V.
Gary brings extensive operational leadership experience across multiple industries. He most recently served as senior managing director of Icahn Enterprises L.P. (NASDAQ: IEP) from November 2010 until July 2024, where he monitored portfolio company operations and implemented value enhancement initiatives. He previously served as president and CEO of Cadus Corporation (NASDAQ: KDUS) from March 2014 until June 2018.
Gary has served on more than 25 public and private company boards, including positions at American Electric Power Company, Inc. (NASDAQ: AEP), CVR Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CVI), and Herbalife Nutrition Ltd. (NYSE: HLF). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University.
Basseri is a technology executive with more than 25 years of experience in AI infrastructure, data centers, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. He currently serves as an executive at eGain and previously held CTO positions at Ferret and FortressSecure. His experience includes executive roles at companies that completed IPOs, including Fusion-io in 2011 and Violin Memory in 2013.
Roman DBDR is a special purpose acquisition company that previously completed a merger with CompoSecure Holdings, Inc. in December 2021. The company announced a business combination with ThomasLloyd, described as a sustainable energy and technology solutions provider founded in 2003.
