Alpha Cognition reports Q1 2026 ZUNVEYL revenue of $3.5M, up 40%
Alpha Cognition Inc. (NASDAQ: ACOG) reported first quarter 2026 net product revenue of $3.5 million for its Alzheimer's treatment ZUNVEYL, representing a 40% increase from the fourth quarter of 2025, according to a press release statement.
The biopharmaceutical company dispensed 6,054 bottles of ZUNVEYL in the first quarter, marking a 23% quarter-over-quarter increase. March represented the strongest demand month since the drug's launch, with approximately 29% growth over February.
Cumulative net product revenue for ZUNVEYL totaled $10.3 million through the first four full quarters since launch. The company reported that approximately 75% of prescribers and 81% of facilities demonstrated repeat utilization during the quarter.
Alpha Cognition's healthcare provider writers grew 23% quarter-over-quarter to 1,060, while the number of prescribers contacted expanded 93% to approximately 3,762. The sales team reached 2,502 unique nursing homes in the first quarter, 26% more than the fourth quarter.
The company posted a net loss of $6.5 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, compared to $1.7 million in the first quarter of 2025. Total operating expenses were approximately $11.6 million, reflecting investments in commercial infrastructure and clinical programs.
Cash and cash equivalents totaled $54.2 million as of March 31, 2026, down from $66.0 million at December 31, 2025. The company maintains its full-year 2026 operating expense guidance of approximately $54-58 million and targets operating profitability in 2027.
Alpha Cognition has Medicare Part D contracts with two major pharmacy benefit managers covering approximately 45 million lives. The BEACON clinical study enrollment is substantially complete, with topline data anticipated in early Q3 2026.
