May 14, 2026 7:03 AM

Fiserv Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV) launched agentOS, an operating system designed to help financial institutions deploy and manage AI agents across banking workflows, according to a company press release.

The platform operates across Fiserv's core banking, payments, issuer processing, and servicing systems. Six financial institutions partnered with Fiserv to develop agentOS, with two currently running agents in beta testing. The company expects wide availability by August 2026.

agentOS includes an agent marketplace featuring four Fiserv-built agents and nine third-party agents. The Fiserv agents handle commercial loan onboarding, daily operational analysis and reporting, deposit intelligence, and anti-money laundering triage analysis. Third-party agents support risk management, regulatory reporting, deposit operations, and back-office reconciliation.

OpenAI and Amazon Web Services collaborate with Fiserv on the platform. agentOS uses Amazon Bedrock AgentCore for secure access to AI models.

"agentOS represents an important step toward helping financial institutions deploy AI agents in a secure, governed, and scalable way," said Ashley Kramer, VP, Enterprise at OpenAI.

First Interstate Bank and Boulder Dam Credit Union are running pilots on the platform. Salem Five, City National Bank, Bank OZK, and SouthState are co-developing additional agents with deployments beginning this summer.

Boulder Dam Credit Union CEO Steele Hendrix said their Daily Operational Analysis Agent reduced report times from 10 minutes to seconds. First Interstate BancSystem Inc. President and CEO Jim Reuter reported automation of loan onboarding and reduced manual data entry through their Commercial Loan Onboarding Agent pilot.

The platform includes governance features such as identity-bound execution, policy enforcement, and audit controls designed for regulated banking environments.
