Seaport Entertainment partners with Public Records team for 2027 venue
Seaport Entertainment Group (NYSE: SEG) announced a partnership with Public Service, the organization behind Brooklyn venue Public Records, to develop a restaurant concept in New York City's Seaport neighborhood. The project is expected to open in 2027 and will involve revitalizing a historic building in Lower Manhattan.
"The Public Service team is reimagining social experiences by creating platforms that combine art, culture, design, and hospitality into a single, thoughtfully curated space," said Matt Partridge, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seaport Entertainment Group.
Public Records opened in Brooklyn's Gowanus neighborhood in 2017 as a multi-dimensional space featuring immersive experiences and plant-driven food and beverage offerings alongside art and music presentations. The venue operates from the historic ASPCA headquarters building and includes five spaces: a restaurant and music lounge, a sound room, a cafe, a cocktail bar, and an open-air plant nursery.
"We're interested in giving new life to historic spaces through cultivating places with distinct identities," said Shane Davis, Co-Founder of Public Service. "This new project is an opportunity for us to flip the model, focusing first on bringing people together through food and beverage, with sound as an adjacency."
The partnership represents Public Service's expansion from Brooklyn to Manhattan's waterfront Seaport district. Additional details about the concept will be announced closer to the opening date, according to the press release.
Seaport Entertainment Group focuses on entertainment and hospitality properties that combine restaurant, entertainment, sports, retail and hospitality offerings.
