Cognex launches OneVision AI vision platform for manufacturing
Cognex Corporation (NASDAQ: CGNX) announced the general availability of OneVision, an AI vision development environment for manufacturing inspection applications. The platform combines cloud-based model development with edge-based execution on Cognex vision systems.
Since its beta launch in June 2025, more than 100 customers have used OneVision to deploy AI-powered vision applications across manufacturing operations. The platform allows users to train and manage AI models in the cloud while running inspections locally on edge devices.
OneVision works with Cognex's In-Sight 3900 and In-Sight 6900 vision systems. The platform enables centralized management of AI model development, labeling, and deployment across multiple manufacturing sites while maintaining local execution for production inspections.
According to the company, customers report development time reductions and operational improvements. Essity developed a sealing inspection application in one day compared to a previous timeline of over one year. Schneider Electric used the platform to standardize AI inspection processes across global operations, reporting doubled yield and reduced false rejects.
The platform addresses manufacturing challenges including fragmented workflows and model adaptation across different environments. Users can collect and label production images, refine models, and deploy updates across device fleets from a central interface.
Cognex states the platform can reduce scaling costs by up to 50% while standardizing inspection processes and maintaining version control across deployments. The company expects increased adoption as manufacturers expand AI vision capabilities across global production networks.
The announcement comes as Cognex continues its focus on machine vision technology for industrial automation applications across automotive, electronics, food and beverage, and healthcare sectors.
