Amazon launches new business credit cards with U.S. Bank and Mastercard
Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced the launch of two new business credit cards issued by U.S. Bank and operating on the Mastercard network. The Prime Business Card and Amazon Business Card are now available to new applicants, according to a company press release.
The Prime Business Card offers Prime members 5% back on U.S. purchases up to $150,000 annually from Amazon Business, Amazon.com, Amazon Web Services, and Whole Foods Market. The Amazon Business Card provides 3% back for non-Prime members on Amazon purchases up to the same annual limit.
Both cards feature 2% back on purchases up to $150,000 annually in customers' top three spending categories each statement cycle, plus 1% on all other non-Amazon purchases. The cards carry no annual fees and no foreign transaction fees.
New features include Equal Monthly Installments, allowing customers to split eligible Amazon purchases into fixed monthly payments at 0% APR for up to 12 months instead of earning rewards. The cards also include spend management tools such as real-time spending tracking, spending limits, approval rules, and virtual card options.
Current Amazon Business American Express cardholders will receive replacement cards beginning August 14, with existing rewards transferring to the new cards. The cards are accepted at more than 100 million locations worldwide and include World Elite Mastercard features.
"We heard from business customers that they wanted more from their card—more rewards outside of Amazon, more flexibility in how they pay, and more control over how their teams spend," said Shelley Salomon, vice president of Amazon Business.
Amazon Business serves more than eight million organizations globally across 11 countries.
