Investing.com -- Digital Turbine Inc. shares climbed more than 7% in pre-market trading on Wednesday following the announcement of a partnership with Databricks to bring artificial intelligence capabilities to its mobile platform.

The partnership will integrate Databricks Genie Spaces and Databricks Apps into Digital Turbine's technology infrastructure, which spans over one billion devices and 80,000 applications. Genie Spaces enables employees to query data using natural language, while Databricks Apps allows for the development and deployment of AI applications within the existing data environment.

Digital Turbine operates data systems called Ignite Graph and DT iQ that process device interactions and aggregate targeting data. The partnership is designed to improve these systems' ability to process real-time behavioral signals for automated decision-making in mobile advertising and app distribution.

"Integrating Databricks solutions into our technology stack enables the unification of our data architecture and accelerates our ability to deploy next-generation AI," said Ben John, chief technology officer of Digital Turbine.

Tony LaVasseur, regional vice president of media and advertising at Databricks, said the integration allows Digital Turbine's teams to access data insights and develop AI applications without moving data outside their governed environment.
