Enveric Biosciences (NASDAQ: ENVB) received U.S. Patent No. 12,605,361 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office on April 21, 2026, according to a company statement. The patent covers methods for treating psychiatric disorders using carboxylated psilocybin derivatives.

The patent pertains to Enveric's EVM301 Series of drug candidates, which are carboxylated derivatives of tryptamine-based compounds being developed for mental health disorders. The new patent expands on previously patented pharmaceutical drug formulations covered under U.S. Patent No. 11,752,130.

"Our EVM301 Series continues to develop in strength and breadth with patent protection of potential small molecule therapies designed with the intent to enhance neuroplasticity while reducing or eliminating hallucinations associated with other psychedelic or psychedelic-inspired agents," said Joseph Tucker, CEO of Enveric Biosciences.

The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company is developing neuroplastogenic small-molecule therapeutics for psychiatric and neurological disorders. The company's lead candidate, EB-003, targets both 5-HT2A and 5-HT1B receptors and is designed to deliver antidepressant and anxiolytic effects without hallucinogenic properties.

The patent covers the use of novel molecular structures for treating psychiatric disorders with compounds intended to provide therapeutic benefits while minimizing hallucinogenic side effects associated with traditional psychedelic treatments.
