GDIT partners with NightDragon to accelerate government tech adoption

May 13, 2026 6:31 AM

General Dynamics Information Technology announced a strategic collaboration with NightDragon, a security technology investment firm, to accelerate U.S. government adoption of emerging security technologies.

The partnership will align cybersecurity, national security and defense companies from NightDragon's portfolio with government programs supported by GDIT. The collaboration targets technology insertion in areas including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and autonomy across air, sea, land, space and cyber domains.

"Our collaboration with NightDragon reinforces our commitment to bringing the latest commercial technology to address federal agencies' toughest mission challenges," said Amy Gilliland, GDIT's president.

Dave DeWalt, NightDragon's founder and chief executive, said the partnership combines NightDragon's investment in emerging technologies with GDIT's scale and mission expertise to accelerate technology deployment for national security challenges.

GDIT has secured more than $120 million in contracts through partnerships with NightDragon portfolio companies, including work with Horizon3.ai to protect military base infrastructure from cyber threats.

The agreement expands GDIT's emerging technology program, which partnered with dozens of new technology companies last year. GDIT is developing proofs of concept for integration into critical missions through co-building solutions and testing in research and development labs.

GDIT is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), which employs more than 110,000 people worldwide and generated $52.6 billion in revenue in 2025.
