Affirm integrates payment options into Google Search and Gemini app
Affirm Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: AFRM) announced it will integrate its buy-now-pay-later payment options into Google Search, including AI Mode, and the Gemini app through Google Pay.
The integration allows shoppers to select Affirm as a payment option at checkout within Google Pay. Users undergo a real-time eligibility check and, if approved, can choose from available payment plans. The system displays the full cost, payment schedule, and end date before customers commit to a purchase.
"People deserve transparent, flexible financial options. Agentic commerce may be the moment that makes that impossible to ignore," said Vishal Kapoor, SVP of Product at Affirm.
The rollout to consumers and merchants will occur over the coming weeks. The partnership extends Affirm's presence across Google's ecosystem, building on previous integrations with Google Pay wallets and Chrome browser autofill features.
Affirm evaluates each transaction individually and presents payment terms without hidden fees or late charges. The company's payment plans are designed to show consumers what they can afford at the time of purchase.
"As AI becomes a more active part of how people discover and buy, it's critical that the payment options remain secure and reliable," said Ashish Gupta, VP/GM, Merchant Shopping at Google.
Separately, Affirm has developed buy-now-pay-later extensions for the Universal Commerce Protocol, an open standard for agentic commerce. The company is hosting these extensions on its website to gather feedback for further development.
The information is based on an Affirm press release statement.
