SmartSense by Digi, a unit of Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII), announced the launch of Assure, a compliance and quality audit solution for multi-location food service enterprises. The solution is designed to digitize inspections and generate automated follow-up task lists from audit findings.

Built within the SmartSense ONE platform, Assure targets restaurant chains, grocers, convenience stores, healthcare facilities, and institutional food service providers. The system aims to help organizations enforce brand, safety, and operational standards across multiple locations.

"Assure addresses this gap as the first solution of its kind to use advanced technology to automatically generate follow-up task lists from audit failures, with specific guided actions," said Guy Yehiav, President of SmartSense at Digi.

The solution includes audit templates with scoring capabilities, configurable outcomes, auto-fail functionality for critical violations, and mobile-first audit execution. It also features cross-location reporting for corporate oversight and integrated follow-up action lists created from audit violations.

A SmartSense survey of 1,000 U.S. adults found that 66% reported tighter dining budgets compared to a year ago, while 23% said they never returned to a restaurant after experiencing a food safety issue. The survey also indicated that 69% of consumers would be more likely to dine at restaurants that publicly share their use of food safety technology.

Café Rio, an existing SmartSense customer, reported increasing compliance from approximately 40% to over 95% after implementing SmartSense solutions, according to Jerry Juneau, Director of Classroom Training, Culture & Food Safety at the restaurant chain.

SmartSense will demonstrate Assure at the National Restaurant Association Show from May 16-19, 2026, at booth 6472 in Chicago's McCormick Place.
