Ingersoll Rand partners with Garrett Motion on oil-free compressor tech
Ingersoll Rand Inc. (NYSE: IR) and Garrett Motion (NASDAQ: GTX) announced a multiyear strategic partnership to develop oil-free air compression technology for industrial applications, according to a company press release.
The collaboration will focus on advanced oil-free centrifugal compressor modules for key sectors including food and beverage and life sciences industries. The partnership combines Ingersoll Rand's compression technology and system innovation with Garrett Motion's oil-free centrifugal compressor modules.
The companies said the technology is designed to reduce energy consumption and improve operational efficiency in industrial processes requiring oil-free air. These applications are particularly relevant in food and beverage and life sciences sectors where air purity requirements are stringent.
"This collaboration reflects our continued focus on delivering differentiated solutions that create superior value for our customers," said Vicente Reynal, chairman and chief executive officer of Ingersoll Rand. "By working closely with Garrett Motion, we are strengthening our ability to innovate at the system level and address markets where performance, purity, and efficiency are non-negotiables."
Olivier Rabiller, chief executive officer and president of Garrett Motion, said the partnership aims to "bring lower lifecycle costs and increased sustainability to operations in the industrial space."
Initial products are expected to be introduced to select Ingersoll Rand customers in 2026, with broader commercial rollout beginning in 2027 across Ingersoll Rand's global sales regions.
Ingersoll Rand is a global provider of industrial and life science solutions, while Garrett Motion specializes in turbocharging and electrification technologies for mobility and industrial applications.
