Comtech opens new Allerium facility in Gatineau to support NG9-1-1
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced the opening of a new facility in Gatineau, Quebec, to support its Allerium segment's call handling operations for Next Generation 9-1-1 services.
The City of Gatineau funded the development of the new facility, which replaces Allerium's previous location that the city is redeveloping as part of a new police services facility. Allerium has maintained a presence in Gatineau for several years.
The facility serves as a location for the company's call handling solutions and NG9-1-1 systems. Allerium recently completed the go-live of the Gatineau 9-1-1 agency and more than a dozen Next Generation 9-1-1 upgrades in Canada this year, according to the company.
"This facility reflects our continued investment in Canada and our commitment to delivering reliable solutions that help protect communities when it matters most," said Jeff Robertson, President of Allerium.
The company stated it is actively growing its team in the region and plans to use the facility to support customers across Canada and other agencies in North America and internationally. Allerium hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony with employees, partners, and community representatives to mark the opening.
Comtech delivers communications solutions to military forces, government agencies, public safety organizations, and mobile network operators. The company operates satellite and space communications systems alongside Allerium's emergency services platforms.
