FactSet (NYSE: FDS) announced a partnership with Valutico to create an integrated valuation workflow for private capital markets. The collaboration addresses challenges firms face in producing frequent, transparent valuations as investor expectations shift toward monthly or more regular assessments.

The integrated system connects portfolio data, valuation modeling and reporting within FactSet's Cobalt platform. Portfolio company financials collected in Cobalt flow directly into Valutico's valuation platform, where analysts can access income-, market- and asset-based methodologies including discounted cash flow, trading multiples and venture capital methods. Completed valuations return automatically to the portfolio management system.

"We looked at a range of options and Valutico stood out because valuation isn't a feature for them, it's what they specialize in," said Emily Monaghan, Senior Vice President and Senior Director, Private Capital at FactSet. She noted that valuation requires methodology, breadth, auditability and consistency across growing portfolios.

Paul Resch, Co-Founder and CEO of Valutico, emphasized the importance of integration with existing workflows. "Cobalt is the system of record for private capital portfolio management, and that's exactly where valuation needs to live," Resch said. He explained that positioning valuation outside investment workflows introduces inconsistency and friction.

The workflow operates within FactSet's Cobalt platform, which serves as a centralized system for portfolio data, performance and investor reporting. Valutico's platform includes access to FactSet's market data, including comparable company information, public company financials, estimates and merger and acquisition transaction multiples.

FactSet provides financial data and technology solutions to over 9,000 global clients across buy-side, sell-side, wealth management, private equity and corporate sectors. Valutico develops valuation and deal management software for financial professionals.
