Labcorp expands Epic collaboration to integrate full test menu
Labcorp (NYSE: LH) announced an expanded collaboration with Epic to make its complete test menu available through Epic's Aura platform. The integration will allow hospitals and health systems using Epic's electronic health record system to access Labcorp's diagnostic services directly within their existing workflows.
The collaboration builds on the existing availability of Invitae genetic testing through Aura, which is part of Labcorp's diagnostic portfolio. Health systems will now be able to access Labcorp's full test menu and new tests as they become available through the Epic interface.
"This expanded collaboration reflects how Labcorp is investing to meet the evolving needs of hospitals and health systems," said Bryan Vaughn, Executive Vice President and President of Diagnostics at Labcorp. "By simplifying lab integrations and delivering our full test menu directly within Epic workflows, we are expanding access and building a strong foundation for continued innovation."
The integration aims to reduce the time and cost typically required for laboratory interfaces by leveraging Epic's Aura connectivity and content-management capabilities. Clinicians will be able to order Labcorp tests and receive results directly within their Epic workflow without requiring separate systems or manual processes.
"Expanding Labcorp's use of Aura to include its full test menu makes it easy for clinicians to order the right test the first time, right from their workflow, so patients get accurate answers faster," said Sumit Rana, President of Epic.
The announcement was made in a press release statement from the Burlington, North Carolina-based laboratory services company.
