Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced the expansion of its Amazon Now service to dozens of cities across the United States, bringing 30-minute delivery to millions of customers. The service delivers fresh groceries, household essentials, and local items within 30 minutes.
Amazon Now is currently available in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and Seattle, with expansion underway in Austin, Houston, Minneapolis, Orlando, Phoenix, Denver, and Oklahoma City. The company plans to extend the service to tens of millions of customers by year end.
Prime members pay $3.99 per delivery, while non-Prime customers pay $13.99. Orders under $15 incur additional fees of $1.99 for Prime members and $3.99 for others. The service operates 24 hours daily in most locations.
"Amazon Now is for when you need or want the convenience of getting your Amazon order delivered in 30 minutes or less," said Udit Madan, Senior Vice President of Amazon Worldwide Operations. "Amazon Now complements Amazon's existing fast-delivery offerings, including 1-hour and 3-hour delivery on more than 90,000 products and Same-Day Delivery on millions of items."
The service uses smaller fulfillment locations positioned near residential and commercial areas. Customers can shop categories including dairy, fresh produce, electronics, and alcohol where permitted.
Amazon reported delivering over 13 billion items globally on the same or next day in 2025, with US Prime members receiving over 8 billion items, representing a 30% increase from the previous year. The company states Prime members saved an average of $550 on delivery fees last year.
Amazon Now joins the company's delivery options including Prime Air drone delivery, 1-hour and 3-hour delivery, and Same-Day Delivery across more than 10,000 US cities and towns.
