Encompass Health to build 50-bed rehabilitation hospital in Post Falls
Encompass Health Corp. (NYSE: EHC) announced plans to construct a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Post Falls, Idaho, according to a company statement.
The freestanding facility will serve patients recovering from stroke, neurological conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations and orthopedic issues. The hospital will provide 24-hour nursing care along with physical, occupational and speech therapies.
Planned features include private patient rooms, a therapy gym with rehabilitation technology, an activities of daily living suite, an in-house dialysis suite, a dining room, a pharmacy and an outdoor therapy courtyard.
"Kootenai County is one of the fastest-growing regions in the state and the nation, and the community is already underserved in inpatient rehabilitation," said Kim Steward, president of Encompass Health's West region.
The hospital is expected to open in 2028 and will serve patients from Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene and surrounding areas. The facility will be Encompass Health's second location in Idaho, joining an existing hospital in Boise.
Encompass Health operates 175 hospitals across 39 states and Puerto Rico, making it the largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in the United States.
