Nexstar names Elizabeth Ryder as general counsel, promotes three executives
Nexstar Media Group Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST) appointed Elizabeth Ryder as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary to the Board of Directors, according to a company statement.
Ryder previously held the same position from 2017 to 2022 and served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel before that. She oversaw legal and regulatory efforts for Nexstar's acquisitions of Media General in 2017 and Tribune Media in 2019. For the past four years, she worked as Nexstar's senior outside legal counsel after joining the company in 2009.
The Irving, Texas-based media company also promoted three executives effective immediately. Scott Weaver was promoted to Executive Vice President, Government Relations, after joining Nexstar in 2024 as Senior Vice President, Government Relations. He established Nexstar's first Office of Government Affairs in Washington, D.C.
Lindsey Knapp was promoted to Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Associate General Counsel. She joined Nexstar in 2022 as Vice President, Human Resources and Associate General Counsel and has served as Senior Vice President since 2024.
Jason Roberts was promoted to Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary. He joined Nexstar in 2019 as Associate General Counsel following the company's acquisition of Tribune Media, where he previously worked for ten years as Assistant General Counsel.
