Tennant Company launches X2 ROVR SCRUB autonomous floor scrubber
Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC) announced the launch of the X2 ROVR SCRUB, an autonomous floor scrubber designed for small commercial spaces. The product targets retail, healthcare, education and convenience store environments where space constraints limit the use of larger cleaning machines.
The X2 ROVR SCRUB can navigate aisles as narrow as 29 inches and features a circular design that allows it to pivot in place. The machine uses BrainOS Clean 2.0 technology, which includes SelfPath AI for real-time navigation around people and obstacles.
The scrubber operates with the X2 Dock RFSH system, which automatically recharges the robot, empties recovered water, refills clean water and dilutes cleaning solution. The setup process uses SmartSetup guided workflows and an intuitive touchscreen interface.
"With the X2 ROVR SCRUB, we are extending autonomous cleaning into smaller, high-traffic spaces customers clean every day but have struggled to automate," said Aaron Stotko, Director of Product, Robotics at Tennant Company.
The product expands Tennant's ROVR portfolio, which includes the X4 ROVR for small to mid-sized spaces and the X6 ROVR for large facilities. The company states this launch supports its goal to introduce 10 new products in two years and grow its robotics business to $250 million by 2028.
The X2 ROVR SCRUB will be available to order in late May 2026. Tennant Company, founded in 1870 and headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, reported sales of $1.20 billion in 2025 and employs approximately 4,500 people.
