Former Army CIO Leonel Garciga joins Booz Allen as senior advisor

Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) announced that former U.S. Army Chief Information Officer Leonel Garciga has joined the company as a Senior Executive Advisor. Garciga served as Army CIO since June 2023, where he led technological transformation efforts including artificial intelligence policy implementation and the introduction of large language models into Army systems.

In his new role, Garciga will work to enhance the company's delivery of defense technology products and solutions. "Delivering operational capability requires not only the best technology but also proven leaders who have solved real-world challenges for our nation's warfighters," said Steve Escaravage, president of Booz Allen's defense technology business.

Before becoming Army CIO, Garciga served as Director of Army Intelligence Community Information Management in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence. He also previously worked as chief technology officer and senior advisor on technology for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

"After a remarkable career with the Army, I'm excited to bring my passion for reimagining technology's role in mission success to Booz Allen," Garciga said. "My mission remains the same: delivering capability at scale, faster, for no-fail missions."

Garciga is a career civil servant and U.S. Navy veteran with experience in acquisition, engineering, intelligence, and information technology. He has expertise in digital transformation, secure software development, and data analytics.

Booz Allen Hamilton employs approximately 31,600 people globally and reported revenue of $12.0 billion for the 12 months ended March 31, 2025, according to the company statement.
