Investing.com -- Anthropic PBC has entered into a $1.8 billion computing agreement with Akamai Technologies Inc. to address growing demand for its artificial intelligence software, according to Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter.

Akamai announced Thursday that it secured a seven-year cloud computing contract with a "leading frontier model provider" but did not disclose the company's identity. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because the information has not been made public.

The deal will provide Anthropic with cloud computing resources to support its AI operations over the seven-year period.
