Signet Jewelers appoints former Macy's CEO Jeffrey Gennette to board

Signet Jewelers Limited (NYSE: SIG) announced that its board of directors has appointed Jeffrey Gennette as a director, effective May 6, 2026. Gennette previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of Macy's, Inc.



The company said Gennette will join the board's Human Capital Management and Compensation Committee and the Finance Committee. He brings more than 40 years of retail industry experience to the position.



Gennette served as Macy's CEO from March 2017 to February 2024 and as chairman from February 2018 to April 2024. He held various leadership roles at Macy's throughout his career, including president and chief merchandising officer, after starting as an executive trainee at Macy's West in San Francisco in 1983.



The board appointment expands Signet's board to 12 directors. The company also disclosed that Nancy Reardon, who has served as a director since March 2018, will not stand for re-election at the annual general meeting on June 26, 2026. Following her departure, the board will be reduced to 11 directors.



Signet operates approximately 2,600 stores under brands including Kay Jewelers, Zales, Jared, Blue Nile, and others. The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company disclosed the information in a press release statement.



Gennette currently serves on the board of advisors for Edward Jones Investments and on the board of directors for the National AIDS Memorial.
