Logitech launches rugged iPad keyboard cases with USB-C charging
Logitech International (NASDAQ: LOGI) introduced two new keyboard cases for iPad models, the Rugged Combo 4c and Rugged Combo 4c Touch, designed for educational use.
The cases are compatible with iPad (A16) and iPad (10th generation) models. A key feature is a USB-C port that allows students to charge their iPad while simultaneously using wired headphones, addressing a common classroom connectivity issue.
The products include drop protection up to 6.6 feet and have undergone backpack drop testing 10,000 times. The cases feature a sealed, spill-resistant keyboard and include a magnetic attachment point for Apple Pencil storage.
For educational institutions, each unit includes a QR code for tracking and a window for iPad asset tag visibility to simplify device management. The Smart Connector provides instant pairing with iPad without requiring separate charging of the keyboard case.
The Rugged Combo 4c Touch variant includes a multi-touch trackpad for navigation. Both models offer four use modes: Type, View, Read, and Sketch.
"By incorporating feedback from educators, students and technology directors in the design process, we developed a solution that directly addresses key classroom needs, such as simultaneous charging and peripheral device use," said Joseph Mingori, VP and General Manager of Mobile and Audio Solutions at Logitech.
The products are available through Logitech's authorized education distributors. Pricing information was not disclosed in the company's announcement.
