BWX Technologies Inc. (NYSE: BWXT) announced it received U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program contracts totaling more than $1.4 billion.

The first contract, valued at $1.285 billion, supports long-lead material procurement for the program. The base contract covers fiscal year 2026 and represents the first of five annual task order awards available through 2030.

The second contract, valued at $165 million, covers procurement of long-lead time reactor system components and manufacturing work on the Ford-class aircraft carrier. Component manufacturing will occur at BWXT facilities in Barberton, Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Indiana.

"We have no higher calling at BWXT than delivering these nuclear reactor systems for the men and women of the U.S. Navy," said Gary Camper, BWXT Nuclear Operations Group president.

BWXT has operated in the naval nuclear sector for more than 70 years and has delivered more than 420 nuclear reactor cores to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. In the past six months, the company shipped four Ford-class steam generators from its Mount Vernon facility to shipyards at Hampton Roads, Virginia, for the USS Doris Miller aircraft carrier.

The Lynchburg, Virginia-based company operates 17 manufacturing facilities globally and employs approximately 10,000 people. BWXT provides nuclear solutions for defense, clean energy, nuclear medicine, space exploration and environmental restoration applications.

The information was disclosed in a company press release statement.
