E-Power Inc. (NASDAQ: EPOW) announced a three-phase microgrid construction agreement with ZL Bio LLC for a project in Middletown, California. The deal has a total value of approximately $252 million and will scale power capacity from 3 MW to 50 MW across three development phases.

The project will serve ZL Bio's greenhouse facility using a solar, storage and backup power architecture. Phase 1 involves $15.12 million in capital expenditure to power 330 greenhouse units with 3 MW capacity. Phase 2 adds 6 MW for a cumulative 9 MW capacity serving 997 units, valued at $30.24 million. Phase 3 represents the largest expansion, adding 41 MW to reach 50 MW total capacity for 6,000 units.

Under the engineering, procurement and construction agreement, E-Power will provide bifacial solar modules and lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage systems. The company guarantees 99.5% system availability and commits to transitioning to island mode within 20 milliseconds during grid disturbances.

"This $252 million agreement marks a major breakthrough for E-Power as we solidify our position as a premier provider of mission-critical energy infrastructure in the United States," said Haiping Hu, Chairman of E-Power Inc.

The agreement includes long-term operations and maintenance services, with E-Power providing remote monitoring, quarterly inspections and emergency response services.
