ServiceNow launches data foundation for autonomous AI

May 6, 2026 1:02 PM

ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) announced new data capabilities at its Knowledge 2026 event in Las Vegas designed to enable autonomous AI across enterprise systems. The company launched Context Engine, Autonomous Data Analytics, and Workflow Data Fabric to address data fragmentation that limits enterprise AI effectiveness.

The Context Engine maps business elements including people, roles, assets, services, and policies in real time to provide operational context for AI decisions. The system learns from workflow activity to improve AI accuracy over time.

"The enterprises winning the AI race are bringing trusted, contextual data directly into the workflows that run the business, giving teams and AI the insights to act with confidence," said Gaurav Rewari, executive vice president and general manager, Data and Analytics Products at ServiceNow.

Autonomous Data Analytics incorporates technology from recently acquired Pyramid Analytics, allowing users and AI agents to query enterprise data using natural language. The system includes Autonomous Data Governance for real-time data quality monitoring and Workflow Data Fabric for data access through ServiceNow Otto.

ServiceNow expanded RaptorDB Pro with Live Perform for analytical processing, Live Connect for direct data access without pipelines, and Live Archive for querying historical and live data together. The database handles both operational and analytical workloads simultaneously.

The company introduced the ServiceNow MCP Registry, a private Model Context Protocol registry that provides enterprise governance for AI agents accessing external services. Early partners include GitHub, Box, and Zoom.

PayPal reported database tasks running twice as fast with longest-running operations five times faster after implementation. The payment company processes more than $1 trillion in annual payment volume on the platform.

Most announced features are available now, with Autonomous Data Governance and Workflow Data Network Partner Passport expected in the second half of 2026.
