H.B. Fuller to build aerospace manufacturing center in Charlotte
H.B. Fuller Company (NYSE: FUL) announced plans to establish an Aerospace Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Charlotte, N.C., expected to open in early 2027. The facility will consolidate specialized manufacturing, packaging, testing, and quality operations for the company's aerospace adhesives business.
The center represents part of H.B. Fuller's Project Quantum Leap initiative, which aims to optimize the company's global footprint and focus resources on higher-margin business segments. The facility will serve aviation, space, and defense markets.
"The aerospace market demands consistency, precision and long-term commitment," said João Magalhães, senior vice president, Engineering Adhesives. "This Manufacturing Center of Excellence brings together advanced infrastructure, deep technical expertise, and rigorous quality systems in one purpose-built operation."
The new facility will feature purpose-designed manufacturing systems, specialized mixing and packaging equipment, and dedicated laboratories for product development and testing. H.B. Fuller plans to pursue AS9100 certification and Nadcap accreditation for the center.
The Charlotte facility will join H.B. Fuller's existing network of aerospace-accredited manufacturing sites. The company describes itself as the world's largest pure-play adhesives provider, with 2025 revenue of $3.5 billion and operations in 150 countries.
H.B. Fuller's aerospace adhesives are used in applications requiring strict regulatory compliance and extended product lifecycles. The new center aims to expand capacity while meeting stringent aerospace industry requirements for quality and traceability.
