TWLIO launches conversation memory and AI orchestration platform
Twilio Inc. (NYSE: TWLO) announced new platform capabilities designed to maintain persistent memory and context across customer conversations involving both human agents and AI systems.
The company unveiled four new products at its SIGNAL conference: Conversation Memory, Conversation Orchestrator, Conversation Intelligence, and Agent Connect. These capabilities are generally available and aim to address fragmented customer interactions where context is lost between different communication channels.
"The agentic era is here. Agents are joining conversations alongside the people they represent, and modern customer engagement requires an infrastructure that serves both equally," said Khozema Shipchandler, Chief Executive Officer at Twilio.
Conversation Memory extracts and maintains customer history and preferences across channels. Conversation Orchestrator manages routing and handoffs between human and AI agents across multiple channels. Conversation Intelligence uses AI to analyze live conversations and trigger automated workflows. Agent Connect provides a framework for businesses to integrate their AI agents with Twilio's voice and messaging channels.
The company also released a redesigned console interface called Twilio Console, which includes a developer workspace called Workbench and an integrated AI assistant.
Additional announcements include Twilio Email, built on SendGrid technology for cross-channel workflows, and Voice AI updates to Conversation Relay including Payment Card Industry compliant workflows. The company is entering private beta for Apple Messages for Business integration and public beta for SMS data residency in the European Union.
Twilio has partnered with Stripe Projects to enable developers to provision Twilio services through Stripe's platform with centralized billing. The new platform capabilities have been in private beta since January 2026 with customers including Car Finance 247, Centerfield, and Constellation Dealerships.
