BorgWarner wins multiple turbocharger contracts from European automaker

BorgWarner Inc. (NYSE: BWA) announced it has secured multiple turbocharger business awards from a major European original equipment manufacturer for passenger car and van applications. The contracts include both extensions of existing business and new business with the long-standing customer.

Production is scheduled to begin in phases from the second quarter of 2026 through the second quarter of 2029, according to the company's statement. The awarded business covers turbocharger solutions for multiple vehicle programs spanning both gasoline and diesel applications.

The contract includes variable turbine geometry, twin-scroll wastegate and regulated two-stage turbocharging technologies designed for various engine and vehicle requirements. These technologies are intended to help the customer meet performance, fuel economy and emissions targets across applications.

"These business wins reflect BorgWarner's strong turbocharging technology portfolio, our competitive solutions and the trust we have built with this long-standing customer," said Dr. Volker Weng, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and President and General Manager, Turbos and Thermal Technologies.

The products will be manufactured at BorgWarner facilities in Rzeszów, Poland and Kirchheimbolanden, Germany. The company did not disclose the financial terms of the contracts or identify the European automaker customer.

BorgWarner, based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, develops mobility solutions for the automotive industry. The company has operated for more than 130 years.
